SUMMARY OF PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS

Media Malpractice Project
This project will focus on erroneous reporting, as opposed to biased reporting, in the policy arena.  The instances will be highlighted on our website and released to other conservative organizations and media outlets.  Highlighting reporters’ factual mistakes on policy matters should encourage them to consult conservative experts to ensure accuracy.

Meetings and Conferences
NRI will provide diverse forums for spirited debate and thought-provoking conversation as conservatives wrestle with issues and seek a common agenda.  NRI will regularly host panel discussions, meetings, debates, featured speakers, conferences, and forums that will be catalysts for innovative and principled policy development and dissemination.

Washington Fellows Program
NRI plans to develop a unique program that will help anchor young leaders in the conservative movement by giving them an appreciation of its history, core tenets, talents, and resources. This high-quality, selective program will introduce young leaders to important thinkers, institutions, and books in order to recreate the conservative movement for promising professionals who are positioned to be key decision-makers in Washington in the years to come.

Project for Conservative Renewal
The Project for Conservative Renewal will develop a fresh, new consensus conservative agenda.  The project consists of regular meetings and intensive coordination and consultations with group members (who are acclaimed policy experts) and scores of outside policy experts.  The deliverables will include: (1) statements of principle; (2) messaging documents; (3) detailed policy prescriptions and/or solutions.

Fellowship Program
NRI will synthesize and promote principled conservative thought, enlisting policy experts from various organizations for innovative policy development.   This will include enlisting policy experts as fellows for specific terms to research and publish on timely, relevant topics.  Through research and publication on relevant topics, NRI will establish itself as an authoritative voice on conservative public policy.

William F. Buckley Fellow in Political Journalism
William F. Buckley nurtured two generations of conservative journalists.  His enormous legacy includes scores of conservative editors and writers.   The Buckley Prize for Young Journalists will be a prestigious annual prize for a recent college graduate who meets rigorous requirements.  The young journalist will earn a one-year term as a writer/reporter.
